Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on 8th June, said that the country had to bear the humiliation owing to unwarranted remarks made by a Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) spokesperson.Thackeray referring to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remark on the ‘Shivling,’ stated that “we shouldn’t bring out a new matter daily”. He further added why one has to look for a Shivling in every masjid.

 The CM commenting on the recent incident in which BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma was suspended over her alleged controversial religious comments, said, “Due to a statement of a spokesperson of the BJP, the nation had to bear the humiliation. Here, in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party is making issues about loudspeakers & other things.”The Shiv Sena Chief also took jibes at the opposition BJP in the state. He said that his government completed the 2.5 years at the office “against the dreams of certain people.”

Taking sly swipes at the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Shiv Sena chief said, “We completed 2.5 years of Government against the dreams of some people. They create an atmosphere to only demonstrate that things are not right here. Rather than making CBI and ED run after us, focus on the situation of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir.” He was referring to the recent targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir,

Thackeray added that Shiv Sena’s long-time ally BJP could capture power in the Centre only because of the help rendered by the late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. The violent incidents against the Kashmiri Pandits have witnessed a surge in recent weeks, with a concerning civilians killed in broad daylight in numeours parts of the Valley. The killings drew sharp protests from worldwide and triggered reactions from the political leaders across various parties in the Valley.
